Project Info:
I was delighted to help Robert Williams (of Pearl Dot Furniture Workshop in Islington) bring to life an altar table for our local Bishop, Martin Seeley. Rev Tony Redman took a classic Pearl Dot design and made it more suitable for the space they had in mind. Robert has been retired from professional furniture making for some time and so he reached out to me to make it for them.
I was more than happy to oblige as when I was an apprentice and studying at the now demolished Ipswich college, we were recommended to buy a book called ‘Furniture Making by Joyce’. Most photographs in this book were black and white, however in the back were colour photos of contemporary pieces made by current master craftsmen, Robert included.
